Journey plan
We’ve poured our hearts into this grand adventure, perfectly balancing wild safaris and historic wonders with tranquil beach escapes. From the lions of Sigiriya to the turquoise shores of Passikudah, every day is a comprehensive celebration of the island’s most iconic and magical landscapes.
Day 1 - Arrival | Transfer to Koggala
Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by your Paddy Trails representative and transferred to the southern coastal town of Koggala. Check in at your hotel and relax while enjoying the peaceful surroundings of Sri Lanka’s southern coast.
Day 2 - Southern Coast Exploration
While staying in Koggala, explore the highlights of the southern coastline including the historic Galle Fort, a scenic Madu River boat safari through mangrove forests, a visit to a turtle hatchery, and witness the unique traditional method of stilt fishing practiced by local fishermen.
Day 3 - Travel to Yala | Evening Safari
After breakfast, travel to the wildlife region of Yala National Park and check in at your hotel. In the evening, enjoy an exciting safari in Yala, famous for its high density of leopards, elephants, and diverse wildlife.
Day 4 - Journey to Ella | Ravana Falls
After breakfast proceed to the hill country village of Ella. Along the way stop to admire the scenic Ravana Falls, one of Sri Lanka’s most beautiful waterfalls. Check in at your hotel and relax for the evening.
Day 5 - Explore Ella
While in Ella, visit the iconic Nine Arch Bridge and enjoy a short hike to Little Adam’s Peak for stunning panoramic views. Later, unwind at the popular Ravana Pool Club, surrounded by lush mountain scenery.
Day 6 - Scenic Train Journey | Nuwara Eliya
Enjoy a picturesque train journey from Ella to Nanu Oya, one of the most scenic railway routes in Sri Lanka. Continue to Nuwara Eliya, known as “Little England”, and explore the town including the local market and the historic post office before checking in at your hotel.
Day 7 - Tea Country | Travel to Kandy
Travel through the beautiful hill country visiting lush tea plantations and learning about Sri Lanka’s famous tea industry. Continue to the cultural capital Kandy and check in at your hotel.
Day 8 - Kandy City Experience
In the morning visit the stunning Royal Botanic Gardens Peradeniya. Later explore a gem lapidary workshop and enjoy a vibrant traditional Kandyan cultural dance performance before returning to your hotel.
Day 9 - Cultural Triangle Journey
After breakfast visit the sacred Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy. Continue to the Cultural Triangle visiting a spice garden and enjoying an authentic Kamatha village lunch experience. Later explore the magnificent Dambulla Cave Temple before checking in at your hotel in Sigiriya.
Day 10 - Village Experience | Minneriya Safari
Enjoy a relaxed morning before experiencing a traditional village trekking experience in the Sigiriya countryside. In the afternoon, embark on a safari in Minneriya National Park, famous for large gatherings of wild elephants.
Day 11 - Sigiriya & Polonnaruwa | Passikudah
Climb the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its ancient frescoes and breathtaking views. Afterwards visit the historic ruins of Polonnaruwa before continuing your journey to the beautiful east coast beach of Passikudah.
Day 12 - Beach Relaxation in Passikudah
Enjoy a full day relaxing on the pristine beaches of Passikudah, famous for its calm shallow waters and golden sands. Spend the day swimming, sunbathing, or simply enjoying the peaceful coastal atmosphere.
Day 13 - Return to Negombo
After breakfast, travel back to the coastal town of Negombo and check in at your hotel for your final night in Sri Lanka.
Day 14 - Departure
