We’ve poured our hearts into this journey, blending the thrill of wildlife and rainforest treks with authentic local traditions. From historic forts to misty peaks, every moment is designed to create a deep, meaningful connection with the vibrant soul of Sri Lanka.
Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by your Paddy Trails representative and transferred to the historic coastal city of Galle. After check-in at your hotel, spend the rest of the day relaxing and soaking in the tropical atmosphere of Sri Lanka’s southern coast.
Begin the day with a scenic cycling experience through the peaceful countryside with Paddy Trails, riding past lush paddy fields, village paths, and beautiful natural surroundings. In the evening, explore the charming streets and colonial architecture of Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site overlooking the Indian Ocean.
After breakfast, travel inland to the lush wilderness surrounding the Sinharaja Forest Reserve, Sri Lanka’s last remaining primary rainforest. Check in to your eco lodge and relax while enjoying the peaceful rainforest environment.
Today you will explore the breathtaking biodiversity of Sinharaja with a knowledgeable nature guide. Walk through dense rainforest trails while spotting exotic birds, butterflies, and rare endemic wildlife. The experience offers a true immersion into one of Sri Lanka’s most important natural ecosystems.
Travel to Udawalawe National Park area in the morning. In the afternoon visit the famous Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home to witness the feeding of rescued baby elephants at 2:30 PM. After this heartwarming experience, return to the hotel and relax for the evening.
Enjoy an early morning safari in Udawalawe National Park, known for its large herds of wild elephants and diverse wildlife. Afterwards travel through the scenic hill country to Belihuloya, stopping at the beautiful Pahanthudawa Waterfall. Continue the journey to the cool mountain town of Haputale for your overnight stay.
While staying in Haputale, visit the spectacular Diyaluma Falls, Sri Lanka’s second highest waterfall, and explore the natural pools of Upper Diyaluma. Later, enjoy panoramic views from Lipton’s Seat, a famous viewpoint overlooking rolling tea plantations.
Experience one of the world’s most scenic train journeys as you travel from Haputale to Ella. Passing through misty mountains, tea estates, and picturesque villages, this iconic railway ride is a highlight of Sri Lanka’s hill country. Spend the evening relaxing in Ella.
Explore the laid-back charm of Ella with a visit to a hidden waterfall and enjoy a local roti-making experience with plain tea. Guests may also choose to visit the famous Nine Arch Bridge, a stunning colonial-era railway bridge surrounded by lush greenery.
Proceed to the cultural capital Kandy. After check-in, visit the sacred Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, one of Sri Lanka’s most revered Buddhist temples. In the evening enjoy a vibrant traditional Kandyan cultural dance performance.
Start the morning with a visit to Kandy’s local market, followed by visits to a gem lapidary, batik factory, and wood carving workshop to experience Sri Lanka’s traditional crafts. Later travel to the coastal town of Negombo for your final night in Sri Lanka.
Early in the morning visit the lively Negombo Fish Market, where fishermen bring in their daily catch. Experience the vibrant atmosphere before transferring to the airport for your onward flight.
