Following breakfast, we will travel to the Dambulla Cave Temple. Here, you will discover the remarkable murals, cave paintings, and statues that date back to the 1st century BC.
Afterward, we will continue our journey to Heritance Kandalama, a masterpiece by Geoffrey Bawa, where you will be spending your stay.
After a delicious breakfast, spend your morning relaxing and soaking in the stunning surroundings of the lake at the hotel. For lunch, we will begin a village tour, featuring a meal prepared by local villagers. You will experience a short ride on a bullock cart and participate in a traditional Sri Lankan feast.
In the evening, we will journey to the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage site, offering a deep dive into the heart of Sri Lanka’s history and natural beauty.
Experience history brought to life at the ancient ruins of Polonnaruwa, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and roam among the echoes of time. Discover the royal palaces, temples, and monuments. The evening concludes with a visit to Minneriya National Park to witness magnificent herds of elephants.
The journey from Kandalama to Kandy includes a stop at Kamatha for an authentic Sri Lankan cooked meal. Upon arrival in Kandy, you will visit the Temple of the Tooth, one of the most sacred Buddhist sites, believed to house a relic of the Buddha’s tooth. In addition, you will also witness a cultural dance show in Kandy.
Following breakfast, we will travel to Colombo. In the evening, we will begin a walking tour of the city, focusing on its historic and artistic buildings. Afterwards, we will have dinner at The Gallery Cafe, which notably was once the office of the renowned architect Geoffrey Bawa.
Our tour for today includes two significant architectural works by Geoffrey Bawa: first, his personal residence, Number House, followed by the equally important De Saram House.
After breakfast we make our way to Bentota via a visit the beautiful Bevis Bawa garden, where art and nature harmoniously blend.
After breakfast, our first stop is Yatagala Temple, which offers a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere.
Next, we proceed to the Jetwing Lighthouse Hotel to admire Geoffrey Bawa’s stunning architectural masterpiece. The tour concludes with a visit to Galle Fort, where we will explore the charming colonial streets and little boutiques.
